Palak Tamatar Sabzi

Palak Tamatar Sabzi - Easy to make and flavourful recipe !


Serves - 2-3 people
Preparation Time - Under 15 minutes
Cooking Time - Under 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS:
Spinach leaves /palak - 1 bunch
Tomatoes - 2 medium no.s
Onion - 1/2(If using Indian onion, use 1 medium no.)
Green chilli - 2 slit lengthwise
Frozen green peas - 1/4 cup
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder -1 teaspoon
Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
Dry kasoori methi(fenugreek) leaves - 1 teaspoon
Oil - 1 teaspoon
Ghee - 1 teaspoon

METHOD:

1. Boil some water in pan and switch off the gas stove. Add palak leaves in to that and leave it as such for 10 minutes.Then drain the water completely. This process is called "blanching".This will enhance the color of spinach leaves.


2. Cut onions,green chilli. Prepare all ingredients and set ready.


3.  Grind Spinach leaves, Tomato,Onions,Green chilli in to a smooth paste.No need to add water. If you find difficult to grind, then you can add 2 to 3 tablespoon of water.


4. In a 3 liter pressure cooker, add ghee and oil. Add the palak puree which you have prepared in step 3. Add frozen green peas,salt,garam masala,red chilli powder,coriander powder .


5. Cover the lid and cook in high flame for about 4 whistles . The flame level should be as in picture below.


6. After 4 whistles, switch off the flame. Let the pressure settle itself. Open the lid and add dry kasoori methi leaves.


7. Palak Tamatar sabzi is ready !.. Have with rotti or rice !
